Employers Employment Law Advice and help

Many employers will be aware of the difficulties of managing workplace disputes and how quickly a problem can escalate.  Dealing with employment problems on a daily basis can be a very time-consuming exercise for any business, however, failure to do so may lead to a claim at an employment tribunal.

Helping you with the necessary employment procedures

Managing employment problems is, therefore, a huge responsibility regardless of the size of the business. However, we work carefully with our clients to ensure that they have the necessary employment procedures and policies in place, that contracts of employment protect the needs of the business and that they are able to manage risk in the workplace on a daily basis.

In our experience, employment issues can escalate very quickly if they are left unresolved. Our philosophy is to manage risk and to act early!

We frequently receive requests for help and support from employers looking to better understand their employment obligations, whether it is ensuring that they have a contract of employment in place, policies are up to date, navigating their way through a disciplinary or grievance procedure, redundancy process or seeking support where an employment tribunal claim has been issued.  Other common scenarios relate to the general day to day management of personnel and employment practices.  Many employment disputes can be avoided simply by better communication and a clear understanding of what is expected.

Getting Help with a Settlement Agreement

In some cases, an employer will issue a Settlement Agreement (formally known as a Compromise Agreement), which is a confidential document preventing an employee from pursuing employment rights in return for a financial settlement.  This is usually a preferred course of action for both parties provided that terms are acceptable and we can assist with both the preparation of the Settlement Agreement and advice.

Where an employment dispute cannot be resolved, an aggrieved employee may issue a complaint at an employment tribunal, most often for unfair dismissal but also with additional claims.  We can work with our clients defending a claim and provide support throughout the process.

The following are examples of some of the employment areas that we can assist you with:

Our advice is tailored to the specific needs of our clients because we recognise that not all businesses are the same.

Whatever the employment problem, whether you are concerned about updating policies, how to conduct a disciplinary or grievance process, redundancy procedure or to produce a Settlement Agreement, we will be happy to help.  Call us today.
